Carversville Residence

Our client in Carversville, PA had just finished a significant interior home remodel, and the addition of a beautiful new detached garage. To bring it all together, we were engaged to design and rebuild a front walkway and landscape, replacing a poorly designed and unsafe stamped concrete walkway. The relationship of the front door to the new garage was not naturally aligned, so the design objective needed to connect the driveway area to the front entry in a more natural layout, renovate the planting and add landscape lighting for safety and aesthetic impact.

Existing plantings were tired, but the existing stone accent wall was well constructed and fit the site and architecture, so the design concept evolved from the existing stone wall element.  Additional walls were created with a series of bluestone steps that tied back to the original element in layers and levels.  The horizontal layout of this design is important, but even more critical is the calculation and execution of he vertical difference building from the driveway to the front porch.   New plantings of varied colors, flowers and textures were added to some of the original plant material, and areas in the front of beds were designed for the addition of vibrant seasonal installations of colorful annuals.
