Ivyland residence

Our clients in Ivyland, PA engaged us as a project partner for the addition of a pool and cabana that included construction of a basement entrance and steps to allow access to a bathroom already part of their existing home. There were numerous complexities associated with the project management of this jobsite, requiring the seamless coordination of multiple contractors working with us on the pool construction, structural concrete, drainage and irrigation.

Following the engineering for setbacks, impervious surface calculations and drainage/stormwater management completed by an engineering firm, our designers took over on the final design layout for the pool, pool deck, cabana, plantings, lighting and irrigation. Reacting to very poor drainage conditions, we set the elevation of the pool and decking 18” higher than the existing grade for improved drainage, while managing the elevation to create access to the basement and connect to the existing back patio. The stone seating wall was created for aesthetic interest while elevating the plantings to buffer views to the front yard and street. Perimeter plantings were installed as a privacy buffer, but also as part of the stormwater management requirements.
